🎚️ Fader - Control volume for every individual app

Fader creates a volume mixer for your computer. macOS lacks a central place to balance sound levels for different programs. This tool fills that gap. It lives in your menu bar. You see every app that makes sound. You get a slider for each one. You can mute apps or check sound levels with live meters.

📥 How to download and install

  1. Visit the official releases page.
  2. Look for the most recent version at the top of the list.
  3. Click the link that ends in .dmg to start your download.
  4. Open the file once it finishes downloading.
  5. Drag the Fader icon into your Applications folder.
  6. Open your Applications folder and double-click Fader to start the program.

🛠️ How to use the app

Fader sits in your menu bar at the top of your screen. Look for the small speaker icon. Click this icon to open the Fader window. You see a list of all open apps that use sound.

Each app has a slider. Move the slider to the left to lower the sound. Move it to the right to increase the sound. Each row shows a bar that reacts to sound as it plays. This helps you see which app uses audio at a specific moment.

Click the speaker icon next to each slider to mute that specific app. Click the same icon again to turn the sound back on.

🔐 Privacy and security
